Hi, I'm Ella the founder of Shaanti

I am an art director and stylist with a background in dance. Shaanti is a culmination of my love of fashion, movement and female empowerment.

I want to create beautiful, comfortable clothes for everyone and I want to do it sustainably and fairly working with other females.

Shaanti uses only dead stock, recycled, vintage or natural fibre materials so it's as ecologically conscious as possible. We also only use natural dyes and our packaging is all recyclable.

All new garments are made in India at the Saheli centre, which is a female empowerment enterprise which facilitates women from rural Rajasthan to earn a fair wage for their textile skills. Saheli women are able to empower and lift themselves and their families out of poverty.

Additionally, IPHD which is the umbrella NGO for Saheli centre sponsors the education of all daughter's of Saheli women members. It runs the only female health clinic in the village and delivers workshops on a range of topics including; human rights, feminism, menstrual hygiene, health, and financial literacy.

So buying anything from Shaanti directly affects positive change for the women and their community, as well as showing the fashion industry that you can make beautiful garments in a sustainable way and more brands should try.
